Old and new friends
Als heute
Morgen um 10 Uhr mein Wecker ging, hätte ich mich am liebsten umgedreht und
weitergeschlafen... das ging aber nicht, weil ich ein Programm abgemacht hatte!
So erschien ich sehr wahrscheinlich sehr verschlafen zum Frühstücksbuffet, denn
kaum tauchte ich auf, liess mich das Personal wissen, dass mein starker
sudanischer Kaffee schon in Auftrag gegeben ist! - Das Personal im Marriott Red
Sea ist extrem aufmerksam und lieb, die meisten begrüssten mich schon nach
wenigen Tagen nicht nur mit einem grossen Lächeln sondern auch beim Namen! : )
Letzte
Nacht wurde es 4 Uhr bis ich unter meine Decke schlüpfte... ich hatte die
Bekanntschaft mit Felix aus London gemacht, der hier auf der Durchreise war und
ganz ähnlich wie ich funktioniert... wir hatten Themen ohne Ende, so dass
die Zeit in Windeseile verstrich und es 2 Uhr war, bis ich mich endlich an
meinen Blog machte...
When my alarm went off at 10 am this morning, I would have liked to roll over and keep on sleeping... but that was not possible because I had arranged a programme for today! So I probably looked very sleepy when I appeared for breakfast, because the staff let me know that my strong Sudanese coffee is already in preparation! – All staff at the Marriott Red Sea is extremely attentive and kind, after a few days most greeted me not only with a big smile but also by name! : )
Last night it was 4 am until I slipped under my blanket... I had made the acquaintance of Felix from London, who was here in transit and operates quite similar like me... we had never-ending topics to talk about, so the time went by lightning speed and it was 2 am until I finally got to work on my blog…

Um 13
Uhr, wie verabredet, stand Mohammed mit seinem Taxi vor dem Marriott und wir
fuhren Richtung Süden nach Makadi Bay. Eine halbe Stunde später erreichten wir
die Bucht und den Makadi Steigenberger Golfplatz, wo Charly mich erwartete. Ich
habe ihn hier vor 5 Jahren kennengelernt und bereits mit ihm Golf gespielt.
Eigentlich ist Golf überhaupt nicht mein Sport - ich würde es nicht mal als
Sport bezeichnen! Ich hab vor 12 Jahren Hansruedi zuliebe damit begonnen in der
Hoffnung, dass wir etwas Gemeinsames haben, musste aber meist alleine spielen,
da er auch dies lieber mit seinen Kumpels tut! : ( Nichtsdestotrotz war es eine
nette Gelegenheit Makadi und Charly zu besuchen. Ich hatte sicher schon 2 Jahre
keinen Golfschläger mehr in der Hand und genoss es, dass Charly sich die Zeit
nahm mit mir 9 Loch zu spielen und sich als Pro um mich zu kümmern... so gelang
mir wenigstens 1 Ball von 10! ; )

mein privater Taxichauffeur hatte unterdessen einen Kunden gefunden und nach
Hurghada gefahren, war aber wie vereinbart um 17 Uhr zurück in Makadi Bay! Da
weiter nichts zu tun ist hier (nur Hotels und private Strände), fuhren wir
zurück nach Hurghada.
At 1 pm, as agreed, Mohammed drove his taxi up at the Marriott and we continued direction south to Makadi Bay. Half an hour later we reached the bay and the Makadi Steigenberger golf course, where Charly was waiting for me. I met him here 5 years ago and already played golf with him. Actually, golf is not my sport at all - I would not even call it a sport! Twelve years ago I started to play for Hansruedi’s sake and in the hope that we would have something in common, but I usually had to play alone, as he prefers to do this with his buddies as well! : ( Nonetheless it was a nice opportunity to visit Makadi and Charly. Indeed I didn’t have golf clubs in my hands for two years and enjoyed Charly taking his time to play 9 holes with me and caring for me as a pro... that’s how I managed at least 1 ball of 10! ; )
Mohammad my private taxi driver had meanwhile found a customer who for Hurghada, but was back in Makadi Bay at 5 pm back as agreed! Since there was nothing else to do here (only hotels and private beaches), we drove back to Hurghada.

Ich
fühlte mich immer noch etwas müde von der kurzen letzten Nacht, so dass ich zum
Abendessen nur gerade meine Lust nach einem Crevettencocktail und Pommes in der
All American Bar (in der Nähe des Marriotts) stillte und mich einmal etwas
früher aufs Ohr legte...

I still felt a little tired
from the short last night, so I just went for dinner to the All American Bar
(near the Marriott) to satisfy my stomach for a shrimp cocktail and fries and
hit the sack a bit earlier than usual…
